Their Future

Mental Health
Experiencing a bereavement can often be a factor in the deterioration to mental health. At The project we want to work together to minimise the risk of affecting this. We concentrate our activities on supportive coping mechanisms, healthy and open communication to promote the ability to talk about difficult things.
Family relationships
At The Seddon Legacy Project, parent / guardian involvement is one of the key factors. If participating in an activity alongside one another it can help to prompt important conversations. By having these conversations with family members, its grows understanding of the others emotions surrounding the bereavement, ultimately improving trust and building on a better relationship.

Future grief management
For some children. grief is a completely new emotion to discover and can be hard to manage or understand. By having support early, for any further bereavement r circumstance, the previous support can assist with the coping mechanisms of an additional bereavement. Every bereavement is different and everyone grieves differently, but understanding this early can help children to navigate their emotions arround this easier.
Passing on the hope
The ideal situation would be to educate children and support them through grief, so they, then can support their peers, relatives and maybe some day their own children.
Passing on the hope to others that the emotions surrounding a bereavement can be managed effectively and together, you can grow through grief.
